The Embassy celebrated Vesak together with the Diplomatic Corps, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the International Division of the Chinese Communist Party, Chinese entrepreneurs, and the media. Most Venerable Chang Zhang, Chief Incumbent of the Lingguang Temple and Vice President of the Buddhist Association of China, conducted the religious ceremony—the Vesak celebration featured for the first time a 4 metre Thorana (Pandol) and a dansela.
